Last week, I attended the Private View of Kevin Fung Lik Yan’s ‘A Matter of Choice’. A local Hong Kong sculptor, the works exhibited in The Rotunda, Exchange Square in Central were all new work based on ‘the challenges of the abundant choices that daily life presents and the inner conflict triggered during the process of choosing’. He used bronze, wood, granite and stainless steel to make his pieces. I loved the textures and rough cuts made from sculpturing the wood out of a chainsaw. His favourite material to work in is wood, as it has warmth and is an earthy material.
The exhibition runs until 28th July 2013.
